For the first time in over 53 years NASA is sending astronauts to the moon! A complete system checkout of the Orion crew vehicle and Space Launch System will be performed to prepare for the Artemis 3 mission in which astronauts will land on the lunar surface and explore the south pole of the moon for a week.  A PowerPoint presentation by Dr. James R. Scott will review the Apollo moon landings and highlight the mission plans for Artemis 2 and 3.  A preview of the Gateway Lunar Space Station scheduled for construction over the next several years will also be presented.  Dr. Scott is a retired NASA Space Systems Engineer and Senior Research Scientist who has worked on previous NASA lunar exploration programs.
